Green Marketing Is Cheap and Easy

Transitioning to green marketing practices might be on your agenda this year, but do you really know how to go about implementing green marketing practices? You'll be happy to learn that green marketing is cheap and easy when you follow these three tips:

1. Print with recycled paper and soy inks.

Choose a recycled matte premium paper stock for deep, rich colors and a soft, professional sheen. Switch from VOC-emitting petroleum inks to eco-friendly soy inks, which are actually capable of producing more vibrant colors.

2. Know your supply and distribution channels.

Just because you engage in green marketing doesn't mean your suppliers and distributors are green. Double-check to ensure that your printing company, shipping company, retailers, wholesalers, manufacturers, and other suppliers and distributors likewise have gone green with their marketing and other efforts. Seek opportunities to save money. For example, instead of having printed postcards shipped to you before mailing, you can cut out the middle man and save money and carbon emissions by having your printer mail your postcards directly for you.

3. Deliver marketing materials yourself.

Take your bicycle or strap on your running shoes and leave the carbon-mobile at home. Not only will you get fit and fresh air, you'll make an impression on customers who appreciate speaking with you face-to-face. You could also recruit a team of friends, family members and/or staff members to help you. If nothing else, your employees would certainly appreciate the opportunity to get out of the office for the afternoon. Being a green company doesn't stop with green marketing, though. Purchase recycled products such as eco-friendly cleaners, office furniture, supplies and other materials you need for work. Recycle paper, plastic, glass, aluminum and other recyclables every week. Many communities offer this service for free but charge for garbage pickup, so recycling is yet another way to save money by going green. Green marketing presents many obstacles and opportunities.
