Nonprofit Marketing: Ideas and Resources

This article is the final article in a five-part series that details exactly what you need to market your nonprofit and make it a success.

Try these creative nonprofit marketing ideas and resources to boost your fundraising efforts this year:

Creative ideas

Host an event – Live performances such as musical acts and stand-up comics are a great way to bring donors together. See if you can work with a local club to share in the promotional costs as well as the take at the door. You could alternatively have a conference, dinner, contest or publicity stunt to get free media coverage.

Sponsor a giveaway - Give away a car, vacation, television or other valuable gift via a raffle to earn money and earn free PR.

Be always visible - Make sure you have posters, flyers, banners and other materials placed in high traffic areas so you can brand your nonprofit 24 hours a day. This lends trust and credibility so when you come calling for donations you’ll be taken seriously.

Get endorsements- Celebrities can enhance visibility and acceptance, especially for new nonprofit agencies. If you can’t get the latest Hollywood starlet or Super Bowl MVP, a local celebrity will do just as well.
